May 17th – The Ascension of the Lord Ascension

The Lord does not leave you alone. He leaves you on a mission.

Jesus does not abandon us when He ascends into Heaven; instead, He remains with us until the end of the age, sending us forth on a mission with the Holy Spirit as our guide. Just like the disciples, we are commanded to “go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations.” Although this may seem overwhelming, we can begin to fulfill the Great Commission by focusing on three practical steps:

First, talk more about Jesus. Share your testimony, talk about how He has moved in your life, and rejoice in His love and provision.

Second, pray with people when they share their struggles. Have an open heart to receive those you encounter and allow them to share their life with you. Invite God into the conversation and ask Him for guidance and intercession.

Last, invite everyone! Do not be afraid to look foolish in the eyes of the world. Everyone is worthy of knowing and experiencing the love of Jesus.

As you start a new week, consider who in your life you need to share the love of Jesus with. How can you pray for them and welcome them into a more Christ- centered life? Remember, He will never leave you alone. Let Him guide you on your own personal mission!

El Señor no te deja solo. Te envía en una misión.

Jesús no nos abandona cuando asciende al Cielo; al contrario, permanece con nosotros hasta el fin de los tiempos, enviándonos en una misión con el Espíritu Santo como nuestro guía. Así como a los discípulos, también a nosotros se nos manda: “Vayan, pues, y hagan discípulos a todas las naciones”. Aunque esto pueda parecer abrumador, podemos comenzar a cumplir la Gran Comisión enfocándonos en tres pasos prácticos:

Primero, habla más de Jesús. Comparte tu testimonio, habla de cómo Él se ha movido en tu vida y alégrate en Su amor y providencia.

Segundo, ora con las personas cuando compartan sus luchas. Ten un corazón abierto para recibir a quienes encuentres y permitirles compartir su vida contigo. Invita a Dios a la conversación y pídele guía e intercesión.

Por último, ¡invita a todos! No tengas miedo de parecer extraño ante los ojos del mundo. Todos son dignos de conocer y experimentar el amor de Jesús.

Al comenzar una nueva semana, piensa en quién en tu vida necesita escuchar sobre el amor de Jesús. ¿Cómo puedes orar por esa persona y ayudarla a
acercarse más a una vida centrada en Cristo? Recuerda: Él nunca te dejará solo.
