Magi Ministry

GIVE TO OTHERS AS THE MAGI GAVE TO OUR LORD

About Magi Ministry

The Magi Ministry began in 1991, providing gifts to 100 people who would have gone without at Christmas. Each year since, St. Ann’s community has embraced this wonderful Christmas tradition. Today, our parishioners  provide a Christmas gift to over 3,600 children, seniors, seminarians, and the ill.

The weekend before Thanksgiving, ornaments are available on Christmas trees at St Ann. Each ornament lists a gift need and/or want for an individual. We ask parishioners to select an ornament or two, purchase the requested gift(s), and return the unwrapped gift(s) with ornament(s) attached to St. Ann by Sunday, December 7, 2025.

WHAT CAN YOU DO?

  • Give a Gift

You can bless the those who are struggling. Select Magi ornaments on trees in the Narthex that you/your family can pray over and provide the requested gift(s).

Please return all gifts by 7PM on December 7.

  • Volunteer

We need many volunteers every year to make Magi a success. Please consider volunteering on weekends or during the week.

  • Make a Monetary Donation

Many gifts are needed—please consider giving $40–50 per person or $200 to support a family; donations can be made in honor or memory of a loved one.

Pray For Us and Who We Serve

We hope you will join us in praying for the people that are served through Magi. We also ask for your prayers for Magi to reach our financial goal. We pray for you and your family in the spirit of the Magi.

When you return your gifts, Magi Ministry volunteers record that the gifts have been returned and ensure that the right gifts are given to the correct people. We bundle family gifts together and distribute the joy and love to the family’s parents.

A donation to Magi is also a great Christmas gift for someone on your list! Gifts can be made in honor or in memory of your loved one. Donations will be used to purchase gifts for some agencies we support and for gifts that are not returned by parish members. Donate online.

A Few Things About

Each Magi Gift:

Each gift is a blessing…it is treasured and special. For many, it is the only gift they will receive.

  • Members of a single family may be listed on different ornaments.

  • As a general guide, we suggest $40 per person or $200+ for a family.

  • Gift requests are made by the individual. We hope to give them what they have requested; whether it be a toy, a warm coat, or some other specific item.

  • All items returned with an ornament will be given to the recipient. If you have extra new, unused gifts to give, please mark as such.

  • Return unwrapped gifts before Mass on November 29 & 30, 2025 and December 6 & 7, 2025. Collection bins will be at each entrance.

  • You may donate gift bags and wrapping paper, but please do not wrap the gifts

Deadline to return unwrapped gifts: December 7, 2025, by 7 pm.

For questions on a gift tag, please call (972) 304-8545 ext. 1880 and leave a message. Someone will return your call within 24 hours.

By Supporting Magi, you support these agencies:

  • Blessed Sacrament Parish and St. James Parish in South Dallas.

These children were selected by their Catechists or Nuns from the families most in need. These children might otherwise not receive anything at Christmas.

  • Missionaries of Charity in Oak Cliff

Started by St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta; they serve the poorest of the poor. These families struggle to meet their basic needs, which is reflected in their humble gift requests for Christmas.

  • Hillcrest & Ewing House in South Dallas

These houses are part of AIDS Services of Dallas. They provide shelter and medical support for those impacted by AIDS. St. Ann volunteers also bring dinner once a month. More info here: Hillcrest House

  • Redemptoris Mater Seminary in South Dallas

These young men come from around the world to join this order. Nineteen priests and one deacon have been ordained and now serve the Diocese of Dallas.

  • Local Children Whose Parents are in Prison

Through the Diocese prison program, we provide gifts for approximately twenty children whose parents are incarcerated.

  • Catholic Charities of Dallas, throughout the Dallas area

CC Dallas relies on parishes to provide gifts to their clients. Their clients are not served through other agencies. We provide gifts for families, children, and adults.

  • St Ann Families

Families from St. Ann that are in need. They could be next to you at Mass, and receiving their only Christmas gift from Magi, from you.
