Peru Mission Trip
In June St. Ann Missionaries traveled to Santisimo Sacramento in Piura, Peru to assist Fr. Joe and the Santisimo staff in serving the poor. The medical clinic provided care to 760 patients and missionaries built 7 bamboo houses during the week we were at the mission. On Tuesday of that week 3 bamboo houses were destroyed by fire…one of which had just been built by another team 2 weeks before. Fr. Joe arranged for the St. Ann Team to replace those 3 houses on Thursday. If you were not in the medical clinic that day, your were building houses, with a short break at the elementary school to take part in the "fun run" in Fr. Henry’s honor!
Throughout the week St. Ann missionaries delivered food packages, taught English in the elementary school, provided care in the hospice, cleaned homes, distributed clothing, and accompanied Fr. Henry as he blessed homes in the villages. A visit to the girls home is one of the favorite activities. The girls performed native dances and topped off their performance with a beautiful rendition of “Hallelujah.”
Please prayerfully consider joining us for this amazing experience in June 2020. Our numbers have outgrown the capacity of Santisimo therefore you will have two weeks to chose from. We plan to take 25 missionaries June 7-16 and 45 missionaries, including the medical team, June 14-23. The cost for room and board at Santisimo, a tour of Lima, insurance, and miscellaneous expenses will be around $400. Airline fare will run $1000-$1600 dollars depending on when you purchase your ticket and how many stops you are willing to make! More specific information will be available in September and registration will open in October.
How can you participate if you are unable to make the trip with us? First and foremost is pray! This is not our trip but God’s trip. We really felt like the Holy Spirit was with us every step of the way! In addition, if you would like to make a donation to support our service projects you can click the link below.
