Are you being called to join the ministry of consolation?

What does the Ministry of Consolation do?

  • Helps with funerals and comforts grieving families

  • Sends condolence cards to the bereaved

  • Provides the New Day Grief Support Group

  • Provides the Divorce Recovery Support Group

  • Helps with Masses for the Anointing of the Sick

  • Provides presentations about coping with grief and loss

  • Supports the annual bilingual Mass of Remembrance on All Souls Day

Here's what you need to be commissioned as a Minister of Consolation:

  • A desire to help those who are grieving

  • Meeting with Ministry of Consolation leader

  • Safe Environment clearance

  • Diocesan grief training 

Here's what you can expect as a Minister of Consolation:

  • Joy from serving others

  • Team spirit and support

  • Monthly team meetings (2nd Monday at 7 pm)

  • Annual retreat

  • Continuing education

  • Two team parties (January and August)
