Fr. Henry Petter
Reverend Monsignor Henry V. Petter was born in West, TX in 1946. He studied at St. John and Assumption Seminaries in San Antonio and Holy Trinity Seminary in Irving, TX where he received degrees in Philosophy and Divinity. He was ordained a priest on May 1, 1976.
Fr. Henry has served different parishes in several different roles finally landing at St. Ann in 2011. While serving in churches, Fr. Henry also served in the Diocesan College of Consultors, the Presbyteral Council, and on the Personnel Board at the Pastoral Center.
When not performing his priestly duties, Fr. Henry enjoys fishing and photography.
Fr. Martin Casteñeda
Fr. Martin Castaneda was ordained a priest in June of 2017. He was born and raised in El Paso, Texas to Norma and Isaac Castaneda Sr and grew up with one older sibling, Isaac. In the 90’s, he relocated from El Paso, Texas to the Lakewood area in Dallas. He worked for Bank of America and all its predecessors from 1985 until 2000 when he became a lender for new homes and constructions loans. He entered seminary in 2008. In 2017, he graduated with a Master Degree in Divinity from the University of St. Thomas in Houston, Texas. In his free time, Fr. Martin enjoys photography, traveling, and attending sporting events.
Deacon Ed has been a Catholic since 1982 when he went through the first RCIA process in the Diocese of Dallas. Since his ordination in January 1992, he's worked on annulments at St. Ann, taught Baptism classes, and served as an airport chaplain at DFW International. He was born in Mississippi but raised in Hawaii and Texas. A retired CPA, he is a graduate of Vanderbilt University and was a four year US Navy officer. He has been married to Cynthia for 40 years with two married daughters and one gorgeous granddaughter
Deacon Pete was born and raised in Ohio. He worked for UPS for 30 years and is currently retired, residing in the Dallas area. He has been with St. Ann Parish since his ordination in June 2002. In addition to his normal deacon duties, he serves on the Parish Finance Council and is involved with CRHP, annulments, marriage preparation, and The Ministry of Consolation. When not at St. Ann, he likes to golf, swim, boat, and spoil his 12 grandchildren along with maintaining his 2 ½ acres in Copper Canyon.
Deacon Kory is a native Texan, born and raised in the Dallas area. He and his wife, Sherie, have been married 26 years; they have a sophomore at Texas Tech and a senior at New Tech High. Having grown up Baptist, Kory was received into the Church at the Easter Vigil in 1991, and was ordained a permanent deacon in 2002.
In the workaday world, Kory’s worked in banking just over 30 years. He has an undergraduate degree in psychology and music from Rice University.
Deacon Eduardo Barajas was born to José Barajas and Ma. Socorro Rivera in Leon, Mexico and grew up with seven older siblings. He attended college in Leon at La Salle University and graduated with a master’s degree in finance from University of Valle de Atemajac. He served as a youth missionary in Mexico from 1988 to 2000. He worked for Deloitte from 1996 to 1998 as an auditor, then moved on to work with Haggar Clothing for 10 years. He currently works for MD Medical Group as the Chief Financial Officer.
In 2005 he moved, with his wife Geny and his son Emmanuel, from Leon, Mexico to Dallas, Texas, where he had twins, Naomi and Santiago, in 2006. In 2008 he attended to CHRP(48). Since then, he has served in the ministries of Faith and Finance, Couples for Christ, That Man is You, and as a Lector and Acolyte. He served at Juvenile Detention Center from 2015 to 2017 and The Methodist Hospital in 2018. He entered the Permanent Diaconate program in 2013, was ordained in June 2018. He has served here at St. Ann ever since.
He also enjoys playing soccer, running, reading, daily mass, and spending time with his family.
Deacon Ron was born on an island in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. As a “Service Brat,” Ron’s family moved frequently, from Portugal to various other places like Canada and Oklahoma, before finally settling in Dallas. Ron graduated with a Master Degree in Theology from the University of Dallas and was ordained a Deacon in June of 2018. Shortly after, he began walking his 500 mile pilgrimage across Spain along the Camino de Santiago. When Deacon Ron is not at St. Ann, he provides commercial property consultant services. He also enjoys spending as much time as possible with his wife, daughter, and son.
