Dear Minister/Volunteer Minister,

In order to protect the children of the parish, St. Ann’s has adopted a program to reduce the risk of child/elderly abuse.  I ask that all staff and any volunteer who has contact with children go through a thorough background check and screening.

I know you share my concern for the well being of our children.  It is my hope that implementing this program will reduce the risk of child abuse.  The extra paperwork and time is definitely worth the trouble if it will help prevent this from happening to any child in the church’s care.

The attached is the Diocesan Safe Environment Program.  St. Ann’s has chosen to take this program an extra step by requiring the following:

• Two adult rule – At least two cleared adults monitoring the children’s activity
