Religious Ed First Communion Retreat

The primary goal of the First Communion Retreat is to come to the realization that when we receive Jesus in Communion...GOD is really inside of us...eager to hear what we want to tell Him.
The Retreat is for the First Communicant and his/her parents only -
please no siblings
Retreat Agenda

8:15 – 8:45am - Registration in Rooms 113/114/115 in courtyard. Pick up Retreat Folder, craft, and t-shirt.  Drop off completed Call to Celebrate Eucharist books.

8:15 - 9:00am - Work on craft, packets

9:00 – 9:40am - Everyone meets in the Assembly Room

9:40 - 9:45 - Rotate to first station

9:45 - 10:15 - 1st Station
  • Children with blue folder (10:00 Mass) will meet @ Station #1* (Main Church)
  • Children with red folder (12:00 Mass) will meet @ Station # 2** (St. Ann Library/Foyer/Courtyard)
  • Children with yellow folder (2:00 Mass) will meet @ Station #3*** (Assembly Room) (parents meet with Director of Children's Religious Education Director in the Reception Room)

10:15 – 10:50 - Rotate to next station and snack time

10:55 – 11:25 - 2nd Station

11:25 – 11:30 - Rotate to next station

11:30 – 12:00 - 3rd Station

*Station #1: Main Church – Important instructions concerning the expectations of the children and the parents at First Communion Masses will be discussed. This will be a good opportunity for the parents to actually see the area reserved for their child and to learn some of the “mechanics” of what will happen that day (this station is for children and parents).

**Station #2: St. Ann Library/Foyer/Courtyard - Do interview sheet with your child, in Foyer and Courtyard.  Complete Vessels & Vestments activity sheets while viewing examples in the Library (this station is for children and parents). 

***Station #3: Assembly Room - Children will be arranged for their First Communion entrance into church. They will also practice their special song (this station is for children only; parents are to meet in the Reception Room for question and answer session).
